Kanimozhi received by Karunanidhi in Chennai, says she will prove her innocence

Chennai: After spending 193 days in Delhi Tihar Jail since his arrest on DMK MP Kanimozhi 2G case back here on Saturday to adopt a rousing party cadres.

Aravindan Kanimozhi and his wife and son Aditya, arrived at the airport in its 87-year-old father and DMK President M Karunanidhi and step-brother MK Stalin, among others.

Kanimozhi mother Rajathi Ammal, Karunanidhi's wife and director of Kalaingar TV Dayalu Ammal and his daughter Selvi welcomed her at the airport.

Hundreds of party cadres broke into celebrations of beating drums and dancing when the DMK MP joined the airport to join the family after more than six months of incarceration.

Kanimozhi also carried banners hailing the "margin stock Sangamame Chennai (hello)", a reference to the annual cultural show organized by him during the Pongal festivities.

DMK party flags and banners with pictures of Karunanidhi and Kanimozhi were lined up along the way to the airport.

Kanimozhi, who was granted bail by the Delhi High xourt, told reporters in Delhi at the airport before boarding the flight from Chennai, that he prove his innocence in court for bail and called him a "first step".

"I'm very happy to be going back (to Chennai). I look forward to my visit to Chennai. We are all happy that finally people are getting bail in case.This is the first step," Kanimozhi told reporters in New Delhi, Chennai, before boarding.

Asked about his next step, DMK Rajya Sabha member, said: "I have to prove their innocence in the face and both legally and get out of it.I 'm sure, to do it."

43-year-MP was arrested for 20th May by the CBI in connection with alleged payment of Rs 200 crores by the DB Group DMK-run Kalaignar TV, where he is a Director.

After the denial of bail by the trial court, High Court and the Supreme Court on earlier occasions Kanimozhi xourt high relief by the end of 28 November.

Since he had to attend court proceedings in the coming days, Kanimozhi chose to stay in Delhi and came back here today.

In addition, Kanimozhi, the other on bail by the High Court of Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar, Bollywood filmmaker Karim Moran and Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd Rajiv Aggarwal and Asif Balwa leaders.
