This is the time of year people come back into our lives for a reason.

Some you do not want. They come with the drama and learn something about yourself and life. Others are happy to see you because they come back with love.

I had not seen the actress Betty White in person for nearly thirty years, when I had the chance to hug him recently.

We met when she was featured in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," and I was the publicist for the CBS show.

Over the years, I saw Betty on TV, and I wanted to tell him how it has influenced my way in future years.

She is a great lover of animals, and on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Zoo. When the opportunity came around me to volunteer with the zoo animals and to children's hospitals, I jumped at the chance because I remembered a special day in the life of Betty has influenced me.

Betty had just finished an interview with TV Guide. It was a few moments before she was to debut on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", now a classic in the history of television. She was about to act his way into the hearts of millions of people worldwide.

I was in the locker room with her Betty, TV Guide reporter and a studio publicist when someone knocked at his door. He was deputy director.

"It is time to go on stage Betty!"

That there was an exciting time for the show and Betty. The producers were looking for a type of Betty White to play Sue Ann Nivens, a sassy, over-sexed host of a cooking show on the fictitious network.

Mary Tyler Moore, a good friend of Betty says: "Why not simply Betty herself." They did and evaluations through the roof.

When Betty opened the door to the deputy director, he told her she had to hurry to get on the board. We all started walking fast with Betty at the scene when a makeup artist on the show we were passing with a shoebox carefully.

Betty asked what was in the box and the woman said: "A little bird fallen from the nest."

Betty stopped dead in its tracks, and the deputy director nearly had a heart attack.

A studio audience waited, and thousands of dollars are ticking time crew if Betty did not immediately go on stage and deliver his lines. She looked in the box and melted. She wanted to feed the poor brood, when the nervous assistant reminded him it was time to leave.

Betty began to walk, but she looked over her shoulder telling the makeup artist for a dropper to feed the birds. His mind was a bird, not the moment the greatest of his life to come.
Over the years, whenever I saw a show Betty, I thought this time. I thought that love not only for animals but for people. His assistant, who was for years with Betty says she has never heard a bad word about anyone. When someone was out of line, Betty apologized for them.

I also thought his resurgence back on television at his age, was a phenomenal success compared to the thousands of players like her, who disappeared into the sunset. Besides his obvious talent, I always felt there was a spiritual reason.

Thirty years later, a rainy afternoon at the Learning Centre of wildlife where I also volunteer, Betty came to film a documentary. One man with a camera, a few people, and the founders of the Centre were there. Before I could say hello, I watched greet everyone with love. They were all touched by his kindness, especially Walt, my husband who has always adored.

It reminded me of the saying: "The more stars, the more comfortable they are."

After greeting and kissing Betty, we held hands and chatted about the old days "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." I felt as if I was talking to a long lost aunt. At 90 years young, Betty and is resplendent in mind rapidly and faculties of mind of a young 50 years. But it is not like some of our elderly parents who constantly Ramble, and make us want to flee. There is something magical in the eyes of Betty.

So what Betty taught me back in my life?

Now I know why she had this huge success for decades. The reason is spiritual love.

She also reminded me that physical beauty is radiant love. And that love has no age and unchanging. Love will not only give you eternal success, but your love and healing touch the lives of everyone in your path, especially those you have not seen in years.
