Why do you need to set goals?

Because if you do not have a destination, you can count on never get there. Goal setting is a way to handle all aspects of your life.

To start, look at where you are physically, financially, in your work, your marriage, your family, which is a priority for you. Really think and write.

Why is it written? Believe me, it gives written your goals much more power. When you think something, is not it - it's a thought, an idea, a desire itself. But when you write, objectives becomes much more concrete. You can see them, touch them. They exist. Your brain as it gets.

So, write down where you are now. Next, decide, really decide where you want to be. If you live in a 3 bedroom and want a 4 bedroom, write. If you are single and want to be married, write. If you are married and want more passion in your relationship, write it down. If you make $ 40,000 a year and you want to make $ 60,000, write.

Post your goals somewhere you will see them regularly. I posted mine on a bulletin board next to my desk. My son, techno more than me, his list on his laptop and checked regularly.

Why see it important? Your goals are like a map. You started a trip and you need to know where you are going. It is important to look at the map periodically to remind you where you want to locate and trace or not you get closer to your destination. From time to time, you will need to adjust your direction.

Break your goals into manageable, achievable steps. If you want to lose 40 pounds this year, how many pounds is that per month? About three and a half years. In six months, you should have lost about 20 pounds. The decomposition allows you to track your progress and keep in mind that you have twelve months to get there. If you're ahead of schedule, you may be able to do more. If you gain weight after a holiday, you know what you need to do to stay on this path of twelve months. Break your steps in increments you can follow.

Give yourself time for a table. In our example, we use twelve months. I would like to start the year with a new twelve months, three years and five-year plan. The first time I did it, I had no idea what to expect or what was realistic. Turned out that I've done everything, even the five-year plan, all in just six months! What show me? I was probably not high enough goals setting and I moved too fast! I decided to slow down and give me time to enjoy the journey.

It was powerful. If I had not written goals, I would not have accomplished so much, would not have planned how to get there, and would not have to celebrate milestones. Goal setting allows you to take charge of your life rather than just react to what happens to you in time.

Set a date. You need a time table or your goals eventually wishes that you never get to. The more often you set your goals and track, you better know what you can accomplish in a certain time and become more accurate your strategies. The second year, I set goals, it took eight months to reach my goal twelve months. The third year, I hit my goals at the end of October. Now I can fairly accurately judge how I will do in a twelve months time and I am very lucky to celebrate my victories.

Have fun with your goal setting. Remember, your life is constantly changing and your way towards your goal will change. Another powerful thing happened as I wrote it and pay attention to my goals - if I am not able to achieve anything I set out to, I understand why it did not happen. Why should I understand that? Because I care.

For example, in 2009, I had a goal to buy, renovate and sell (flip) eight houses. I have not touched this goal. Why? Changes in the banking sector. Buy lasted longer than he had the previous four years. Setting properties took longer closed. My time contract and rehabilitation remained the same, but working with lenders was the surprise. If I had not had a plan and did not follow the results year after year, there are plenty of valuable business information, I would not have been aware of.

A year will be made twelve months from now if you plan for it or not. Since you will live, why not set goals and twelve months, we will all celebrate how much we have accomplished.
